Fox 2 featured Me
It was exciting news when Lonni Thomas, Coordinator for the Eastern Market, asked if I would showcase my handmade clothing on Fox 2 News. I was thrilled—and terrified. I didn’t know which pieces to choose; every garment felt like a story I’d poured time and heart into. With limited time, I focused on a curated selection that best represented my brand: a bold statement chunky knit long sweater completely done by hand with handsewn custom made flowers, a long patchwork coat, a few best-selling knitted shawls, all to show craftsmanship.
Preparation became my anchor. I practiced brief descriptions, highlighted what made each item unique (fabric, fit, and the handmade details), and planned quick styling ideas viewers could recreate. On camera, nerves were there, but I concentrated on being authentic and clear. The segment went smoothly and the response was immediate: increased traffic, more orders, and people recognizing the handmade care behind each piece.
That Fox 2 appearance didn’t just boost sales—it raised awareness of the brand and validated the work. It taught me the value of preparation, choosing a few standout items to tell a larger story, and letting passion show through even when you’re nervous.
